Daniel Youl’s Sum Up
|

The last round of the ASBK took place at Australia’s most prestigious racetrack, Phillip Island on November 27 – 29. Gold Coaster Daniel Youl took out 2nd for the round and finished the year 2nd for the 250gp mono class.
The quietly spoken youngster is completely happy with the way this years racing season went. Daniel’s challenge for the year was to improve his lap times and to stay upright for the year; after last years huge crash at turn 2 at Qld Raceway, that saw him battling some demons at the beginning of the year. Daniel didn’t expect to take 2nd in the Championship. He took 2 round wins this season, 1 at Qld Raceway and 1 at Eastern Creek, that saw him in the hunt for a possible championship title at the last round. Unfortunately that wasn’t the way it went for young Daniel.
Daniel said " I never expected to be up there in the points, but I guess I have to put it down to being more mature in my attitude towards racing. Keeping the bike upright and maintaining my bike to insure reliability has been the key to my success this year".
For the youngster it has been a financial battle to see him at each of the rounds. Daniel is now looking forward to next seasons racing and is looking for more sponsors to help him to the top. However Daniel gave it everything to see success in his achievements this year.
" I would like to thank my sponsors, Scott Cooper from Quantum Racing Industries, CP Pistons for the most reliable pistons on the market, Lindsay Donai for all his mechanical knowledge and expertise, Tom Malaska Motorsports in America and PSI Racing valve springs for their ongoing support".
Be sure to keep following Qld rider Daniel Youl next season to see him become number 1. |
