Quantum Racing Industries South West All Star Series Round 2 Charlton Raceway 19th November 2011

With only a week until nominations close for Round 2 of the “Quantum Racing Industries” South West Allstars Series to be held at Charlton Raceway in Toowoomba on 19th November, let’s have a quick recap from round one of Australia’s biggest Modified Production Series.

Toowoomba's Shane MacDonald raced home to win the opening round in front of over 1500 people at the all new Kingaroy Speedway. From the moment the Modified Production's hit the track in the opening heat, the racing was truly remarkable with amazing battles right throughout the night and plenty of two and three wide racing on the wide open spaces of the new Kingaroy layout that kept the crowd on their feet, cheering for more.

Although rain during the early part of the week caused multiple bumps in the track, the Modified Production's used the "hooked up" surface to its potential and the show that they put on in the feature was amazing with a nail biting battle for the lead with Robert Trapp and Shane MacDonald, then MacDonald and Michael Budgen and who can forget the likes of Todd Doyle and Rodney Pammenter running around the fence lap after lap after lap and then Greg Worling and David Jacobi both giving it go towards the back end of the feature race.

After 30 gruelling laps, Shane MacDonald held on to win in Club President Ashley Barron's EL Ford Falcon just ahead of Shane Langton and David Jacobi. Heat winners during the night were Shane MacDonald (2), Shane Langton (2), Robert Trapp (2), Darren Pearson, Aidan Raymont, Peter Gray, Greg Worling, Luke Hollyman, Bevan Collins, Todd Doyle, Stephen Geritz and Gavin Fletcher.
